Where I was 23 years ago

Watching TFC showing the videos of what had been 23 years ago makes me think back of what I had always been fighting for. I was in EDSA 23 years ago today. Yes, I was in EDSA 1. I was in EDSA 2. I was in Ayala during the rally for Jun Lozada. Has anything changed? Yes, I had given up that is why I chose to be in the Land Down Under (read my journey to the Land Down Under in another blog). I had given up the hope for the Philippines. I had given up hope that my childrens future will be better there. I reminisce the EDSA revolution with a tear in my eye, that the phenomemon the Philippines showed the world was nothing but that... a phenomemon. I chose to leave the Philippines because I know nothing will change for the better. I pity my motherland. When the time comes, I will relinquish my citizenship not because I am no longer proud to be a Filipino, the country of the corrupt officials. I will relinquish my citizenship, because I have found my home in the Land Down Under.
